I have taken liberty to light-CLA a perfectly working Yashica FX 2.
And, of course, I made it worse.

Camera came with my recent purchase of this 50 year old mechanical wonder.
All speeds were ok.

Steps:
1) I opened up bottom.
2) Shook it, to make sure nothing falls off.
3) used brush to remove any dust, there were no signs of big rust on anything gumming
4) applied 2 squeezes of Electric parts cleaner aerosol (CRC QD Electronic cleaner)
5) waited till it dried
6) repeat step 2 again
7) Wound and clicked shutter, I think that point it was still working
8) applied 1 dib of oil (Nye Hobby Gear lube PP269 light viscosity oil)from needle dispenser on each, of about 6 different points (where I could see gears, or sliding parts). And one dib in the whole of a button of the bayonet mount.

9) whipped out excess oil with paper towel

From that point on, my shutter speed appear to be same (anything below 1/4 should be buzzing and then clicking) but shutter fires at a speed of like 1/250 or something (basically way too fast). So I lost my slow shutter speeds

Mirror does not stick.
Timer works

What did I do wrong, and is this fixable ?

I searched here as well on all search engines, youtube, and flickr could not find 'slow shutter speeds not working' kinds of discussions/help.

@shutterfinger thank you. Your suggestion worked.
I flushed it with lots more of the electric cleaner, and applied a lot less of the oil.
Does this mean that this camera's mechanism uses friction (rather than cogs, springs and levers) somewhere ?
Just by looking at the bottom, it is not clear where this might happen.

P.S.
On a somewhat separate note, I have similar problem with Fujica ST701, however I received it with slow speed not activating the delay mechanism(occasionally), I tried the 'lots of clean -- little oil' on that, but no success. So perhaps symptoms are similar, but causes are different.

Amazing

Oil acts like glue preventing parts from moving freely. Cameras and shutters use very low forces to move the mechanical parts that operate the various functions. A sheen of oil is all that is needed for smooth operation.

The Fujica is a mechanical camera so I would suspect wear or mechanical failure for slow speeds being intermittent.
Check out https://learncamerarepair.com/index.php there may be some useful information in the repair course section and there is a service manual for the ST 705 in the manuals section.

thank you @ic-racer. does 'CA' mean a glue?
My FX-2 is basically TL-Electro v.2 with the Yashica bayonet mount (the TL-Electro is m42). So FX-2 looks almost identical inside to TL-Electro from 1966 v.2
Your camera FX-2 2000 seems to be newer (at least by looking at the pictures). I did not see in my FX-2 plastic wheels. But thank you for the follow this is good to know.

Yes, cyanoacrylate glue. The FX-3 has a Copal-Square style shutter. Even if yours has a different shutter (is it cloth, horizontal travel?) the main spring and escapement might be similar. Basically for the speeds below the X synch speed, the rotating drum needs to hit the escapement and mine was missing contact. Yours might have some similar issue if you can identify where the contact point is.
