Hello,
wanted to ask the collective about modern Nikon iTTL compatible, light weight flash lights, that can provide auto-focus assist, under $100.

Something that weights a little, takes no more than 2 AA batteries (or comparable in weight lipo battery), that works well with modern and older Nikons.

Basically I am looking for SB-500 but cheaper. I do not mind giving a try to 3rd party manufactures.
This will be used mostly for B&W film (100-400 Ilfords) with Nikon 35-70 basic zoom, or the 50mm screw driver autofocus lens.

We have SB-900, great light, but just too heavy for hand-held work.

Probably a bit bigger than what you have in mind, but the SB-600 is often available for < 100 USD. Fully compatible with film and digital TTL
