Hi Folks

I mix fresh pyrocat hd after 3 months but was wondering if I need to replace sol B as I currently do. I change it as I currently think it might have become contaminated etc but I do try to work carefuly and was wondering if I am just wasting chemicals etc.

Cheers, Carl

Although it should last longer, I say it is better to be safe than sorry. I do the same as you and mix fresh "B" when I mix fresh "A".

I mix my "A" in glycol which makes its shelf life extremely long. I don't re-mix until the "A" runs out.

Carl, I have used both solutions for about 10 months with no problems.

Solution B of Pyrocat-HD should last for several years unless contaminated with Part A or some other chemical. If contaminated with Part A it would slowly change color, first to light amber, then to deep amber, and finally turn black. Any discoloration of Part B suggests some type of contamination. If mixed correctly, and clear, it should be good for a long, long time.
