I was researching long aspherical cone shaped 180 degrees Peri Apollar lenses. Let me share my thoughts , I think there are two kinds of ultra wide angle lenses , one is circular , large diameter front element glass as We see at Nikon and other one is the opposite , narrow cone shaped Peri Apollar.

When I was thinking about cone shape , I thought why wouldnt it possible to construct these two class lenses with angular angles ?

Angular shaped , stepped lenses are invention of Lawrence Livermore Lab. and it is also used at Canon Telephoto Lenses , named as Diffractive Lens Element .

I go simple. What would be the image of a narrow long 4 corners , four angular sided
prism lens similar to Freedom Tower in NYC ?

Can it be corrected to daylight ?

Umut
