Has anyone thought about this? 1:30 wait time is just too long for me... and sometimes iso100 is too slow.. if i push it to 400, how much time would i add to the dev time?
The only way to get a faster wait time is to heat the film after exposure. I've used a hot pad to heat it, getting a 30 second wait time, but you need to allow it to cool before pulling the picture.
And in my experience, Mr. Cybertrash is right, there is no way to push or pull the film.
Self terminating is correct. When I shoot it out in the field, or pretty much anywhere for that matter, I don't separate it until much later, up to a couple of hours. As long as you separate it before it dries out you are fine. That is my experience anyway for what it is worth.
Same experience here - You must leave it for a minim time (normally around 1:30 to 2:00 at normal temps) but within reason the images will be the same after 3min or 30min.
The chart is for estimating how much time you need to wait before pulling the film apart depending on the temperature it is developed in. Hotter days it is faster, colder days you may want to give it even more time than stated on the paper tab. It does not push or pull well at all, your shots will come out under or over exposed if not shot at box in my experience. I have only used fresh film though, maybe possibly expired film could do with more exposure? With longer exposures at night it works surprisingly well where bright highlights are not blown out letting you expose for the shadows a bit longer to get details.
They're the minimum times for the temperature, that's all. There's basically no maximum (within reason). I often take my shots and throw them in the bag, I peel them an hour or two later when I'm done, otherwise I have a habit of peeling them too early and they're not finished...
