Hi

is the last step on Stouffer 21 step wedge as dense as a the blackest area of a film such as Provia RDP III? Is there much (any) difference between the blackest levels there and in (say) 120 roll film?

just wondering as I don't have a densitometer here (although I do have the exposed Provia sheets and a step wedge ;-)

21 step info

a stouffer 21 step wedge has each step .15 in Dr - density range - apart.

So from step 1 to step 21 is 20 x.15 = 3.0. The lightest areas of a slide do not always start as clear film though, so slide filem I think goes to a higher Dr in cases to allow maximum black.
