Proper way to Fix Out Photo paper

What is the proper process to "Fix Out" photo paper.

I have some fiber based and RC photo paper that I want to try for my final support in Carbon printing. I know I have to FIX OUT this paper before I can use it. Do I have to do this fixing in complete darkness (no safe lights allowed) or what?

I think safe light is appropriate. You're processing it just like you would any other photo paper, except you're skipping the dev & stop.

You might be able to do it in dim white light, but it's easy to test. The only time I've done it, I just went ahead and used safe light.

Any paper with a developer-incorporated emulsion should be done in safe light. If I remember correctly, that intense white light can cause spontaneous development in those papers.

I always fix papers in daylight (40W tungsten). Of course, if you want to retain some paper in the box for standard silver processing, remove the sheets under safelight.
