Proper Hello

Greetings everyone! Gotta say I’m surprised to see an actual active forum these days. Feels like it’s 2003!

I’m located just northwest of the Twin Cities of Minnesota. I’m one those dreaded millennials that’s trying to kill all industries, except film and vinyl records! I got bit by the shutter bug in high school with my mother’s Minolta x-370, which I still have and use. About 10 years ago my spouse signed me up for a community Ed class on darkroom printing and development. I immediately turned the basement of our rented duplex into a light tight space and filled it with all the free darkroom equipment I could get my hands on. We eventually bought a small house and had a child and the equipment gathered dust. Then we eventually bought a bigger house and Covid hit, which resulted in me having a glorious break from my career as a union carpenter, so I dusted off all the equipment and set up the new laundry room as a darkroom. I started experimenting with Caffenol and Beer based developing. You can find me on Instagram @DarkRoastArts
