I have Been franticly searching for some repair information for a prontor professional 1s shutter, as my only working shutter broke today, I am fairly certain the trigger has internally disconnected from the cocking mechanism and that it could potentially be an easy fix? however there appears to be no obvious method for dismantling the shutter so I can make the repair. I was wondering if any one new of such information before I start randomly taking out screws, apologies if i have missed a previous post on this subject, but I cant seem to find much information on the repair of these shutters

Its this type for reference (left) Link

Thanks Max

Thanks Bernard, I believe the internals may be similar so that helps unfortunately externally the shutters are very different so still not sure how to get into this shutter

From the picture, it appears that the locking ring around the actual opening can be loosened with lens pliers. That probably holds the entire from to the body of the shutter. I know that some Prontors, like the ones used on Polaroid 110A's, use a similar device.

Just guessing, though. Good luck.

Thanks (there was a url link here which no longer exists) you were correct, the locking ring removes the face plate and exposes a small part of the mechanism and I was able to fix the shutter

the problem for any future readers was that the part of the shutter that sticks out to accept the cable release had managed to spin 180 and a screw attached to its base was blocking the firing mechanism, by taking off the front plate I was able to rotate the cable release mount back to its proper position and now the shutter works perfectly

now back to shooting
