Prontor Press (?) problem

I've just bought a Schneider Angulon 120/6.8 in what I believe to be a Prontor Press shutter. The speeds not showing in the picture are 1/25, 1/50, and 1/125. It seems to be a #1 size shutter; the front element threads are M40, and the rear ones, while I haven't checked (the rear lens group is reluctant to unscrew), look like a plausible M36). It looks like it's never been used, it works very well, and the speeds are pretty much accurate, except for the following:

- the slow speeds (slower than 1/10) are reluctant to start ticking if the lens is pointing upwards
- those same slow speeds aren't repeatable unless I turn the speed dial around a full 360 degrees for each shutter release

Firing the shutter again (and again) after setting a slow speed and firing (correctly) once seems to make it just run at maximum speed.

Having studied what I could find of material about the Prontor Press, I understand that the rotating ring that swings the shutter blades has an arm on it that causes the slow speed mechanism to reset for another run - at least on the Press variants that don't have the separate little speed dial that this one has. I also understand that that mechanism needs a rather fragile little spring to be in place for it to work right.

If anyone recognizes my problem, and has further input for me before I start taking the shutter apart, that would be great!
