Recently got four rolls of film developed at a small commercial lab I have been using for a few months. Three of the rolls came out well, as was usual with this lab, but one of the rolls was completely ruined.
I just want to make sure this is the lab's fault before I go back to ask for a refund, and not my camera's or the result of some other variable . I assume it had to do with the film being pressed together during processing. What do you guys think?

Looks like either something in front of the lens or a piece of film lodged inside the camera. Two different shots, but the position of the black thing is the same. I don't see how the lab managed that.

Yeah, it looks like it is probably the camera. Just found a loose protector piece that may have swung in front of the shutter. A little odd because the black wedge would show up every other photo, but that is probably because the piece is able to move around pretty easily.
