Processing Ektachrome 100D

Hi All,

I managed to buy a big roll of Ektachrome 100D. It is normal E-6 process and I was going to cut it into rolls and send to the nearest lab, however, there's a note in the technical sheet:

KODAK EKTACHROME 100D Color Reversal Film
5285 / 7285 contains special sensitizing and filter dyes
that improve color reproduction. Because these dyes are
designed to rinse out of the film during processing, they
will change the color of the first developer, the reversal
bath, the final wash, and the final rinse. This solution
discoloration is only cosmetic. It will not affect
sensitometry or the quality of any Process E-6 film or
control material. However, the solutions will cause
splicing tape and processing equipment (rollers, racks,
etc.) to have a pinkish color. The pink dye residue can
easily be washed off processing equipment by following
normal maintenance procedures

I don't want to make lab people angry therefore I'm looking for any lab, that specialize in E-6 cine developing. Are you aware of anything like these? Google doesn't help..

The little bit of info says its fine. It is standard Kodak E-6 process after all.

I know that, but lab people wouldn't be happy of having their lab machine turning pink and that's why my question is.

Have you asked the lab people? Maybe they don't mind if you give them the technical sheet info.

You should be able to call the lab, or include a photocopy of the note with your film, the worst that could happen is they say no. Your other choice is to find a local lab that processes cinematic film, then mount the slides yourself.

Final Wash & Rinse of all my C-41 and E-6 films comes out pink.

Hmm, that makes sense.

I found fotostation.co.uk but they charge 3 x standard e-6 price which is more than I paid for 400ft spool.

E-6 isn't an expensive process to DIY.

Send it to a home developer in the UK.

You know, now that I think about it when I get my regular slides back from the place I send them to (Fuji USA) the tape is pinkish. Maybe it is just that some Kodak E-6 film just does this. Do you have a Fuji UK that you can send your film to? Sometimes it can be good to be a little fish in a big pond.
