Does anyone know anything about "PROCESS B-41". (No, this is not a missprint for C-41) B-41 was the process No. for the "Kodak Ektacolor Processing Kit" which was used for Ektacolor Type B film from 1949 until around 1958.
It was intended for photographers who wished to process their own color negatives taken on Ektacolor Type B film. The negatives were then used to make positive matrices for the Kodak Dye Transfer Process. At that time, (1949) Kodak did not make any colour positive Tri-pack printing material for user processing. The first user process tri-pack material EK made especially for printing from Ektacolor B negatives was Ektacolor Print Film. This was also designed for the B-41 process.
I think Process B-41 may have been similar to Process C-22. I am certain Process B-41 was not used by EK in their laboratories at Rochester for Kodacolor film, because I can find no reference to Kodacolor ever being processed in B-41.I have data sheets going back to 1947.
