Does anyone have any experience with ProCamFix? I need a repair done (film camera), but Authorized Photo Service doesn't have the parts, and Nikon isn't currently accepting repairs.

No experience with Pro Camera Fix but for what it's worth (if you're looking for an LA shop) a few years ago I used STEVE'S CAMERA SERVICE CENTER in Culver City for a minor repair and they seemed knowledgeable. They are just north of Samys on Washington Blvd.

Thanks, I emailed them. The repair shop doesn't have to be in/near Los Angeles, they just need to know Nikon cameras and be taking work. We'll see what they say.

Steve's Camera does good work.

You may also want to check Walter's Camera Repair in LA.
I've used Steve's, and they have done some great work for me when they fixed my Rolleiflex GX at a very reasonable price, whereas other shops would not touch it. (The aperture and shutter dials were very stiff to move - new old stock)

No but I used Camera Max in Montrose to repair my Nikon FE and Pentax MX and was very happy with the results. Repairs were a bit slow but the price was very reasonable and both cameras work just fine. I don't know if he's open with COVID (he's a one person shop) and I sure as hell hope the business survives the shutdown. No web site but you can find him on Yelp.

Thanks for the responses, everyone. When I figure-out where I'm going to send it, I'll let you know how things go.

I've also used Dean's Camera Repair in West Carson. He is Nikon trained (but works on other stuff too).
Great work, great character. "Interesting" shop...

To follow-up, I got my camera back, from ProCamFix last week, and the repair looks good, and things seem to be working, well. I;m glad I sent it to them, as Nikon is still not taking any repairs.
