Problems with Canon F-1N AE Finder

It seems a couple of issues have cropped up with my AE Finder.

First, when I put the camera in manual metering mode (i.e., shutter speed dial to a number, aperture to a number), the number on the dial and the number in the finder on the right side are not the same. Right now, the dial says 2000 but in the finder it's 125.

Second, when I set the finder shutter speed dial to A, the manual meter scale on the right side remains visible (like in attached picture). My recollection and understanding from the manual is that when set to A, the manual scale on the right should disappear and the bottom scale should appear.

Any ideas what might be going on? I made sure to seat and re-seat the finder, ensuring that the shutter speed dial was on 2000 when it was attached.

I have a fleet of these. You are right about setting the shutter speed dial to A. When that happens, the vertical aperture display on the right side is supposed to disappear. It's also a little odd that the top shutter speed of 1/2000 does not show up on the bottom horizontal display. I don't know how many New F-1 cameras I had before I discovered that. Ken Oikawa has adjusted some finders for me when he was working on a camera. I would try him first.

Try removing the finder, then putting it back on the camera, then set the shutter speed dial to the minimum and maximum speed, going through every speed then pulling it up and putting it on A.
It may be because the metering prism isn't properly coupled to the body.
