I thought I had fixed it, but alas. I notice that I can turn the winder the wrong way. If I do so by mistake, then the winding gets out of order and won't stop at the next frame.

Does anybody here have photos of the winder (inside?). I'm trying to figure out what is missing.

If no one has photos to supply, maybe you can post photos of your own and someone might see the issue? Lots of these mechanisms work in the same way. Like one-direction winding. Ratchet and pawl is common. Another are spring-loaded small stop pieces around the main barrel that relax when turned one way and bind the barrel when reversed (hard to describe properly but in the Rolleicord winding knob and the Medalist winding knob, etc.).

I will do this. I see that the photos I have taken are not good enough to see the wheels properly. I will take new pictures when I'm back and can open up the camera again.

There are a couple of Japanese links at the bottom of the Camera-wiki page:

Of these, the Kan's Room link has one photo with the top housing removed - the auto-stop was faulty on his camera. I don't think you can see what stops the shaft turning the wrong way though.

The text of the Hayata Camera Lab says they will service a Pearl IV for you for 30,000Yen, and says they can replace the bellows, but warns that if parts of the auto-stop mech are worn, they probably can't fix it.

Here are photos. The framestopper is working (last photo). The problem is that nothing prevents rotation clockwise, which messes up the advancement. I also got a problem, that a part of the spring broke (the loose one in the photos) so I have to find a replacement as it won't wind the mechanism all the way back when opening the camera.

If you see something that is missing, please let me know.

Thanks. I looked at the photos, but unfortunately they are not taken at an angle to see the underlying gears.
