I own an Jobo ATL 1000, with standard programing, I have a problem with. The lift with the drum attached to it stays in upright position during the processes and does not return to horizontal. Maybe anyone encountered this problem before and might know what is needed for repair ?
If you find out any thing useful about fixing your problem, can you post it here for the benefit of those of us keeping ATL's still running? It may be a useful resource in the future.
I had two contacts for Jobo repairs. They were both very helpful and quick in responding to emails ( US , joboman@aol.com and in Germany: kds@fotolaborservice.de ).
It was not necessary though to send the machine to one of them. I disassembled the appliance and took the motor of the lift out. It was quite hidden but I could easily put it back in place afterwards. The motor of the lift had contacts that turned black. I used sandpaper to clean them and put it back in. After this, the machine worked ok again.
Willem,
The air into the Jobo may, I think, be moist and contain trace of chemicals. This may be prone to oxidize the copper alloy of cntacts.
May I suggest you cover the contacts with what is, in France called Vaseline which may be petroleum jelly in the US. It is used in aircraft industry because it is not chemically active and conduct electricity. Of course, I think that your unit is re-assembled by now ;-)
Get that screwdriver back ;-)
The air inside must be moist indeed. I saw traces of the dried chemicals on the inside of the panel. To apply vaseline is a good idea to avoid oxidizing of the contacts. After the motor is put back in, the connected contacts cannot be reached for this, so vaseline has to be applied before putting it in place. It will take some time and effort to put the motor back in and not have vaseline on a lot of places it does not belong. I was happy I got the motor back without the vaseline..
