I got these strange weighted drying clips from the auction site. They're like two clips welded together to the same weight. When I saw the pictures I thought they might have some sort of latch to keep a weighted and unweighted clip together as a pair, but now that they're in my hands I can confirm that they do not come apart.
Has anyone used these before? It looks they could dry two rolls at a time, but they also seem like they could be a bit awkward to use.
They might be intended for use with 220 or 135-36 films that are longer than the drying area is high, and therefore require that the centre of the film be looped at the top over a curved rim.
You also need to remember to place the emulsion side out and centre the 135 film in the groove before letting go of the weighted film clip, think of kinks happening.
The other real danger can be kinking the film when you take it off the film hanger as it usually has a natural horseshoe shape after going through the whole process in that position with the last process step being a quite hot drying cycle.
I did so many of those I could do it blindfolded!!!!!

Ditto Mick ... I've processed many thousands of rolls using dip and dunk machines.
One thing I did do with 35mm film after taking those hangers out the dryer was to flip the roll over at the bend while it cooled down - especially important if the roll needed to me mounted !
There is a possibility (slim, but its there) that if you had two rolls to dry, you could attach them to your usual drying whatever at the top, pull them taut, and use the dualie clips on the bottom end, one side for each film. Sort of like this: V
They should stay separated if there isn't any slack in the films.
