I am getting seriously disappointed with the commercial prints I get from my lab from Fuji Superia 100. Quality is getting down very steep. One print by photographer with own mini lab: colors right, but not enough details, washed out, to white, price 0,33 euro. Another print by Spector Belgium: to much green, blue coat became green, but more homogenous print, price 0.5 euro. Now I submitted same negative to ELKA Belgium as professional print at 1,30 euro !! I am curious about the result. They toldme it is better these days to have film developed and have proofing made and make a selection of pictures printed as 'professional'. I have never had these problems a few years ago. I am tempted to use my CANON G7 digital more, colors tack on and at a price of 0,29 euro per print. Is the end of analog color photography at a reasonable price ???

I don't think mini-labs ever made the best possible prints.

You could try printing them yourself. It isn't that hard to get better then mini-lab results.

Depends on the mini-lab, how good the negs are and what you are looking for. We have a local mini-lab that can turn out what I regard as very good prints(6x4 inches) at a price and a speed I cannot match, provided the negs were properly exposed. There must be many as good. Of course you have the problem of finding one.

It loses its edge when it comes to enlarging and/or cropping and enlarging.
