I have been invited to a printmaking retreat this month. I have had a few of my colour solarizations sent to a printmaker to make tri colour polamer plates.
Then in registration we are going to make pigment prints on paper using very old presses with paper and maybe even aluminum.
I am very excited about the possibilities.. I believe that I have the capabilities in my shop to make the plates and as well I have a monster press to retrofit a registration system.
Anyone here with experience they want to share and examples of images... I will post the results in December if this thread is of interest .
At first I thought you meant printing from glass plates. Do you mean press printing from polymer plates? Recently I made a carbon print from a glass plate transferred to glass at the George Eastman House. The negative was a vintage glass plate courtesy of the George Eastman House and Mark Osterman. Mark archivally prepared it as an Orotone.
I've been hearing about polymer printing plates. A large part of my second degree in college was printing and publishing. Then a plate was a sheet of aluminum that went on a Heidelberg Kord printing press!
