Found Ralph Lambrecht's step tablet (shown below) here: https://www.photrio.com/forum/threads/step-wedge-image-file.184207/#post-2423188 while searching for a new step tablet.

Upon opening in Print Tool there is a warning; "image has alpha channel". Apparently this means it can be printed over another image, but that's not my intention. Will it print normally, or will the alpha channel skew things one way or another and have unintended downstream effects?

JPEG format does not support alpha channels, so I don't know why a program would be giving you that message from it. Did you edit/alter the image?

I did crop around it a bit, then undid the crop.

My usual path is to go through Capture One first which creates TIFF's on export and have had no problems using Print Tool, but for some reason CO won't import the step tablet.

Figured it out.

I clicked on the Image in Ralph's post (which enlarged it and 'brought it forward') before importing it into my computer.

Just now I tried again by highlighting it, then imported it into photos. After that it went into Print Tool as normal.

Computers...grrrrr...
