I bought an RC paper dryer a few years ago, one of a number of darkroom bits and bobs I bought when I retired. It's a hot air blower over 3 flat racks. But it makes the paper buckle and curl up, whereas air drying - just lay the prints on newspaper at end of session and leave overnight, they dry perfectly with a slight curl in one plane - is much more efficient.
However the good news is that when we got a new super-efficient boiler and the cellar became cold in winter, I can just switch on the dryer half an hour before I want to start, and bingo! ambient temperature down there is 68 F.

What about infrared dryers of the past? A list of makes and types would be helpful. An IR gives better gloss and reduce veiling.

Glad to hear it, it seems to me very elegant dryer, and when not in use can be used for other things, beer stein holding such

go for a drying cabinet instead. you gt those for next to nothing these days. marrut is a name -brand drying cabinet.I just sold one for less than$100.

Itested several drying methods and could not find an difference in print color, gloss or veiling.so I went for a warm -air drying cabinet for simplicity and convenience.

The IKEA solution is awesome. Surely I must implement this. Much less real estate than my screen squares.

It has served me well - for prints (can hang around 14x 8x10" prints at once), AND film, in all formats... Couldn't really be simpler or more compact - and if you mount it a bit above head height (not so high you can't reach it easily), it's not in the way of anything at all!
