I found a Praktomat 35mm thing that looks like a duplicator. It's a wooden box with a 35mm housing and light on it. Anybody know what this does? Anybody heard of Praktomat? Can't find it on the net.

Welcome to Apug!

The name seems originating in a german speaking country.

I do believe that is a slide duplicator for making contact prints from negatives. Place the negatives on bottom, emulsion up and, in total darkness, the positive film (in the magazine) emulsion down in contact and press the button. I assume there is a set of registration pins somewhere above or below the printing aperture, but the photos are not detailed enough to see.

Thank you, James!

Concerning the Praktomat, more and better photos would be great.
