Praktica EE2 Shutter

I had totally forgotten that I had purchased a Pracktica EE2 at a yard sale about 3 years ago, put it in a storage tub till yesterday. The metal shutter curtain moves up when the shutter lever is cocked and sounds like it fires normally, but the curtain does not open when it cycles..... It moves at the same speed on all speed settings including "B" and with the timer.... The film advance spool, sprocket and mirror move as they should... No corrosion in the battery chamber.... Any ideas?

I am not familiar with that model, but I remember it's a semiauto with an electronic shutter, are you using it with the battery?

I also heard that unlike the bread and butter Prakticas they are also delicate.

Are you using a PX21 4.5 volt battery? Also look for corrosion in the battery compartment. Take off the bottom plate to see if corrosion has migrated to the bottom circuit board.
