I just won an Epson V500 on eBay for $50. As I was paying for it, I read the fine print and noticed that it didn't have a power adapter, or USB cable. Not a big deal as I'm sure I can get the USB from Best Buy, and the driver/software I'm sure I can download from the Epson site.

My question is about the power supply. I know it's a 24v 1.5a output, and 100-240v input, but can you find these generically as well?

If you are in the US, I'd recommend Compass Micro (Compass Micro - Your Authorized Epson and Canon Printer Service Center --). They're an authorized Epson service center here in Portland.

If you go on their website, you'll find the AC adapter is Epson part # 2124947, costs $39.30, and as of this posting, is backordered. You might be able to find it from other places as well now that you know the part # to look for. I don't have a V500, so I don't know what the dimensions of the plug are for finding a generic replacement. Note, if you don't already have one, you'll need to order the AC cord that plugs into the "brick" separately. Compass has them for about $5.

No affiliation with Compass other than being a happy customer.

Google "24 volt 1.5 amp Power Supply" and you'll get a ton of suppliers. The only issue will be the tip (plug that goes into the Epson).

Have you tried Epson support? When the power supply on for my V500 failed (out of the warranty period), they sold me a new one for 10 including postage. That was in the UK, but presumably Epson USA has a similar scheme and similar prices.

Second-hand stores often have a variety of power supplies. Make sure such supplies have the correct voltage, adequate current output, and the correct polarity and connector.
