two pounds of potassium carbonate to 1.75 pounds of oxalic acid to make one gallon of developer. Warm water to about 100º F, add the carbonate and stirr until disolved. Slowly add the oxalic acid. it will efervesce quite a bit so start will less than 1 gallon of water, I would say 3 qt.

Well...now I'm wondering if I start with the water at 100 before adding the carbonate or after? As the carbonate will heat the water...

Should the water be warmer than 100 when adding the oxalic? this is gonna be fun...and I think my PD solution is done spinin...FO next...run film...make PD prints tomorrow After cleaning up the science experiment of course.

The way that Jorge wrote his instructions, yes, you should have the water at 100 prior to adding the carbonate.

Colrehogan...yep that was exactly how I did it...figured Jorge would have included all the details. thanks again.

Rlbersky....it's a PT/PD developer, Potassium Oxalate is sorta expensive while the ingredients really aren't.

The other thing I forgot to mention and sounds like it's too late for you but we'll add it for future readers is to do this in a 5 gallon bucket so you have lots of extra expansion room.
