I have some potassium Bichromate from photographers formulary I mixed up a few years ago . it has been sealed in a jar - though stupid me, I put it in a clear jar. Can I still use it - or evaporate it and start again - or should I just start over ?

It should be ok.
What is sensible to UV is organic matter in presence of the dichromate, not the dichromate powder or solution itself.
Edit: regardless of amber or clear glass storage.

It will not decompose (chemically) the only "risk" if you made a diluted solution, is that you get a other concentration or even a saturated solution (with sediment; "Bodensatz" in German) , because a part of the water is evaporated.
