Those will also have to go out once I get back since they they have been since stamped with Japanese stamps. I tell you, the last two weeks have been such a blur I'm not sure how I made it here all in one piece.

In any event, looking forward to having more cards to look at when I get home at the end of the month!

Have three cards recently come to my house,

Mooseontheloose, Afternoon Cruise , like the vertical formatting of this,the allmost static stationary round hats (really like those hats) of the passengers in the boat is reflected in the stone wall above them, and the relief of the trees and sky at the very top makes for an interesting Photograph to me.

Randal,s "Niiagara Tree" says a lot about the barely visible Hugh falls behind it, nice one.

Oxleyroad "A Furture engineer" I can see the intense interest the little girl has in this model A, its a keeper.

I just got back to Lisbon and I had lots of cards waiting for me! With no particular order:

Oxleyroad (A future engineer)- loved the story, the idea of putting such a car back together again is so nice! I like the overall low key look to the photo, makes Emma stand out
Randalcav (Niagara Tree)- a different shot on the Niagara Falls from I am used to seeing in the pictures, there's only a hint of them in the right side.. still, ver balanced, and David Gilmour is awesome!
megzdad81 (The Wisp)- I wish I had more story about this portrait.. I don't understand very well the goal, but in a way it looks to me like a paparazzi shot! I had to search the meaning of the word "Wisp", it fits perfectly
mooseontheloose (Afternoon cruise)- the first time I receive something straight from Japan, and I absolutely adore it. There's a sense of calm and order in this photo that makes me feel relaxed.. very nice tones and composition
Anikin ('Fur trader') - biggest one so far! selling animal fur is not ver trendy right now, but it lead to a nice portrait!

Ozphoto's card came today,full color tri pic of Porsche scripts emblems. At first I thought a car advertisement, very well done , layed out professionally . And yes, the "bath-tub" is one of my favorite cars along with the very similar Volkswagen Carmenghia .

My hopes of printing and sending prints anytime soon are gone. My mom, who lives alone, suffered a mild stroke just over a week ago. She's improving every day, is out of the hospital and has temporarily moved into a place for revalidation. We have good hopes that she will make a full recovery, or as close to full as possible. Obviously, this is the most important thing for me to focus on right now.

So, no doubt I will be late this round, but rest assured, someday my cards will be printed and sent.

I'll say a prayer for your mother and hope she'll make a complete recovery! And don't worry about the PCX-38: just take care of your mother and you're now official freed of any obligations for this round. So no pressure anymore from this round and if you find the time some where in time just surprise us with a card.

Volkswagen "Karmengia" still do not know if thats the right spelling, the "poor mans Porsche".

Four cards have been on my desk for two weeks waiting to be commented on here. I finally have the time to do so. Here we go in no particular order.
A nice triptych from Ozphoto that I initially thought was a Porsche advertisement. I am glad I looked at the back of the card. It is nicely composed with the names moving the viewer's eye from image to image. Well done.
Then there is the card from Oxleyroad showing a very intent and curious Emma working on her first engineering project. It will be interesting to see her in a couple of years tinkering with there own projects.
"The Wisp" from megzdad81 is a wonderful portrait, and different use of HIE (for me). I also wish that this fabulous film was still produced.
"Niagara Tree" from RandalCav is composed nicely. The falls are covered by mist behind the tree (as to not be distracting), but still visible at the right boarder. I find the tree at the right boarder somewhat distracting. Unfortunately we sometimes have to live with subjects we do not what in our photos.

Hello everyone. Looks like it's September somewhere almost time for a new round!

Since it's still August here on the east coast of Canada look for the sign up thread in a few hours. I just need to get a bite to eat and wonder up stairs to the real computer.

I'm so behind!

I have no good excuse, but lots of distractions (e.g. minor but long-lasting renovations that involve my bathroom/darkroom). I am endeavouring to get them done and out in time to sign up for the next round.

Cards are printed, toned and labelled and the stamps are on them. The ones going to Canadian destinations have been mailed. I'm hoping to get down to the US today to mail the rest.

I'm that close to being able to sign up for the next round (cards for which are at least printed).

The bathroom/darkroom's new floor is almost finished, and looks great .

Quick update in my hectic shcedule. My cards are printed and sitting on my desk to be written and stamped... hopefully they'll leave France in the coming days!

I did notw comment on the cards I receive, hope I can find some time this weekd end!

To those that commented on my earlier post, thank you all for the kind words.

I'm happy to say that six, seven weeks later, things are looking much better, fortunately. My mother is back home again, talking more and more, finding the right words more and more often, and back to her daily routine. She's even allowed to use the car again, and has done so already. All things considered, we're very happy that this is the outcome. Could certainly have been a lot worse. This is just about the best outcome possible, all things considered.

So, with that event mostly behind me, I not only have more time, but, more importantly, more motivation to go into the darkroom. First developing a small backlog of films, but after that, I have some postcards to print.

Received many a postcard over the past months, but I've been so completely out of it that I can't go into detailed commenting for each of them. So I'll just say in general: all the cards I have received are of high quality as always, thank you all!
