Postcard Exchange Round 67 Comments and Feedback

I received betamatt's "Balance Rock" today, very cool. It gives the impression of imbalance, but I'm sure it's been safely stable there for centuries. Thanks Matthew!
 
Two more cards arrived to day! Thanks @chris ellinger for your atmospheric, mysterious and compellingly composed print! Also many thanks for @mshchem with your card demonstrating the crispness of 6x9cm which yields a pleasant 'thereness'.

I also got "Hatch chili" from @AnselMortensen, beautiful print that suffered quite a bit on its voyage across the Atlantic. Also, my first postcard in this round, a great way to start!
 
I received GB-A2's "Transcending", a nice shot o f some downtown Detroit buildings, and a labor sculpture. Nice shot on a sunny day. But serious postal scuffing on this one Thanks Geri.

I appreciate the documentation of historic architecture before it is replaced by McMansions.
Nice tones, and I really like the paper surface.

Another view of classic, historic architecture, this time being repurposed.
Nice tones, composition, and interplay of contradictory graphic elements.

betamatt's "Balance Rock"...Nicely seen landscape detail composition, beautifully printed!

GB-A2's "Tootie or Lee's Towing"
A fun, wide-angle interior view of the cab of a vintage early 1960's Chevy/GMC truck!
( I had a 1963 C-10 for a while).
Great lighting and tones, nice image!
 
Printed all mine over the weekend. One of the 3 was on Fomaspeed 313, which got slightly fogged by my safelight, first time that's ever happened to me. After contemplating re-printing, I decided for this particular print the fogging was actually kind of nice looking, so they're going out. I also ordered a new dark red safelight from Freestyle...
 
Received your card @mshchem - it arrived in perfect condition. Looks like that branch is reaching out to grab something, perhaps around the corner. Perhaps you? Quite a moody scene.
 
I received AnselMortensen's "Hatch Chili" today. Excellent large format shot. Nice composition, nice lighting, fills the frame. And there's a little shadow under the chili. Very nice. Thanks Doug!

This is a film scan that I had press printed at a lab on premium Mohawk paper. Probably the last time I will send postcards that way because I just picked up a used enlarger!

Received a great photo today from mfohl, "Catching Big Air" shadow of great grandson, swinging away. I remember those great swings at our parks! Thanks so much, great job printing!

@mshchem - "Dendritic Shadows" - Another lovely, but spooky building, nicely printed on Ilford Postcard stock, you gotta be getting close to running out?
@betamatt - "Balance Rock" - Where is that rock? I love hiking to things like this.
@chris ellinger - "Passage" - Ooof, I really like this one!
@GB-A2 - "Grumpy Helicopter" - Very nice print from A Squared. As a fellow Michigander, I've never been to the Pima Air and Space Museum. It's now on my to do list, next time I get through Arizona. Welcome to the PCX!
@mfohl - "Catching Big Air" - Very nice detailed print of a shodow scene. Nicely done!
@AnselMortensen - "Pepper" - Great still life, perfectly lit. The shadow at the base really makes the pic. Well done.

This week I had an avalanche of postcards:
- @chris ellinger ' ghostly "Passage"
- @koraks ' "unfinished" oversize postcard (how did you get this through the post office?) with a lovely story behind the great picture. I'm a sea and sand lover myself.
- @mshchem 's eerie "Dendritic shadows"
- @Don_ih 's "Gated drive", staying that maybe you should go back and have a look at that horror movie house...
- @betamatt 's nicely printed "Balance rock"
- @mfohl 's intriguing composition in "Catching big air" that somehow just works.

My postcards are late because life has been getting in the way of my printing, but I hope to get that sorted tomorrow.
 
Received a pretty trippy and psychedelic sunset from @GB-A2 . It's fun to use things in front of the lens. Reminds me of when I took photos through a bugs-eye viewer - good fun! The sky looks pretty amazing in that photo, by the way. Thanks!
