This time, I think I sent 4 different photos (maybe it was 5? - you'd think I'd remember). The first postcard round I did, I sent everyone a different photo. Last round, I think it was 5 photos. I don't much like printing the same photo over and over again... I only did that once.

Oops me too. No idea what images I'm printing or when I'll be printing them. Maybe if there's another night (like tonight) when I can't sleep I'll go downstairs and print till I drop.

I received my first card of the new round today. The House Between Two Trees by Don Heisz. An interesting back story about how the image was created. But even without that, it's a cool shot! The windows look like eyes, and the house is nicely framed between two trees. Thanks Don!

Just a question for you all— which do you prefer: receiving the postcard in an envelope or naked as a traditional postcard?

I sent mine last time in envelopes, and I've seen people send them out as both, but I want to ask yous what you think. Personally, I am conflicted because many of the postcards without envelopes that I've received have been damaged (beyond just having the postal stamp/processing markings on them), but I also like the evidence that it was mailed.

I have no preference. I'm happy with whatever anyone else chooses. So far, I have only sent them as postcards but, if I was to choose a different paper, I might send them in envelopes. I don't mind the damage, if it's not too bad - I've had a couple with severe scuffs in the middle of the photo, which was unfortunate. But this is a postcard exchange, not a small-print exchange, so that's the danger.

Ultimately, though, do whatever you feel most comfortable doing.

I guess I would say I prefer an envelope, specifically because it seems to help prevent damage. But 90% of no-envelope postcards I've gotten showed up just fine, so I'm not all that worried about it.

I'm gonna continue sending them as postcards. I think it's neat getting them, warts and all, with the postage stamps from all over the world, etc. The ones I've received in envelopes, though, are just as fun...I just keep the envelope with the photo.

Edit: Printing this weekend. 35 cards of one photo may be more than my brain can handle, so I may make 3-4 batches of different photos.

FWIW, I found developing the skills to do batch printing was an excellent way to improve/exercise my darkroom techniques
And after a while, it became really quite fun!

In the 20 or so exchanges I participated in, I always sent them without an envelope, and preferred receiving them without an envelope. I also received very, very few that had been damaged significantly. Signs of travel, yes, but little that affected my enjoyment of them.
Of course, I also worked for a month as a mail sorter when I was a student - and postcards were a highlight of a very boring job!

I have mine printed, I received Don's card (very nice, better than mine), I like the postcard with the "skid marks" from handling but am equally happy to get an envelope. My wife, the artist, thinks that this is wonderful

Ditto that; this is my first PCX too and I'm excited to get postcards in the mail. I can't remember the last time I got one--probably in the last century. Mine are a bit cobbled-together; I'll plan ahead and try to make them neater next time. Even so, this was fun.
