OK, I'll go first. Just put my cards in the mailbox. I would like to have hand-written all of them, but my printing is nearly unreadable. And it gets worse the more I do. So I have printed information and very small personal salutations.

Looking forward to all your postcards too!

Cheers,

-- Mark

PS - no barns this time. I promise.

Just posted my cards. Like Mark, no inky scrawls on them - just printed stickers.
Everyone gets a different picture.

I'm on a tiny one week vacation but before that I printed a bunch of cards and left them under pressure to flatten. Hope to mail 'em soon upon arrival. I don't remember if they want a touch of a brush but anyway it won't take long I hope.
And since I've been shooting like mad during the vacation (3 rolls of 120 is a lot for me) some of you might get something really fresh.

Thanks Terry. Amazingly, you are the first to comment on my card. I sent 6 or 7 within the U.S., and the rest outside. Nobody inside the U.S., including one guy nearby here, said they received a card. I was beginning to the think the whole lot went into a black hole.

Cheers,

To All:

I have had little time, or energy , to "play in the dark". I have selected a negative, all I need is time to get into the darkroom. In an ideal world that would be this weekend, but next week would work also. I will post when they are in the hands of the post office.

Regards,
Darwin (drpsilver)

Mark, I received your card this weekend as well, and it made it to Japan all in one piece. I love the abstract nature of it - as Terry has said, it can be viewed from any orientation, which is good, since I still can't figure out which way is up!

Thanks Rachelle. The bottom is the same as the bottom of the address side. But it is intentionally abstract.

I just received Don Heisz's matchsticks today. Very cool shot of some dumped out kitchen matches. I first thought it was a photogram, but it is a standard shot. And with one lit match. I challenge Rachelle to find the proper orientation on this one!

Thanks Don!

Received my first round 54 card today, from @Simon I in Spain. It features a very huge owl billboard-type sculpture atop an acute corner an ornate building. The owl; reminds me of the mechanical one in Clash of the Titans (if anyone's seen it) - but made huge and 2-dimensional.

@mfohl -- I lit a match and put it in the pile - I was freaked out when it set off another match just as I took the photo.

I received Don Heisz' "Hand Hand", which is another great image with no clear orientation (do I detect a theme this round?) I love that you stacked the negatives and used extremely old film in the process - neither of which I would have guessed from just looking at the image. It was slightly damaged in the post but is still a very cool print.

I've received two very nice cards so far:
Don Heisz's "Maple Leaf" - almost photogram like and, as he notes, nicely disintegrated; and
mfohl's "Old Clunker" - an old car with plants growing around it. A perfect subject for a Holga. Not quite disintegrated, but close!

I received 2 cards, yesterday.

From @mfohl, Three Tires - they are casually leaning against a door, one bigger than the other two, like fellas hanging out on the stoop. It received a bit of abrasion in the post - some of the emulsion is scuffed clean off.
From @gijsbert, a larger (5x7) photo (came in an envelope), of an angel in a cemetery - quite moody due to the film and filter choice. The angel looks to be presiding over a meeting, where the participants are all in shadow.

My cards are in the gentle hands of Canada Post.
Printed on selenium toned Cooltone RC this time - a change of "tone" for me.

I too received a card from gijsbert - his "Angel at the NOG cemetery".
An atmospheric image printed on the new Ilford MG RC V in Satin finish. The paper and the printing really suit the mood.

I've felt similar to my offerings for the last couple of rounds sent. I think I've only received one to two cards for the six that I sent out. Disappointing... But just reading the newer posts, it now seems that more of your cards have arrived at their destinations Mark.

And it's good to see my take over of the world of printing on Satin paper is sloooooowly taking effect! It's a great paper and more people should try a small box to start - you may be impressed!

My cards are printed, so give it a couple of days and I should report back, saying that they've been sent.

Mark, I experienced that sort of thought when of my 10 cards for round 52 only 1 person received it.

Satin is the same as pearl, right?

I've received 2 cards so far:
- cool portrait of a rabbit mask from @Don Heisz , a bit Rembrandt lighting going on
- old clunker from @mfohl , and old car becoming part of the landscape, great subject for a Holga indeed

@bedrof satin is between pearl and matte, has a bit more punch than matte and not as shiny as pearl, I think satin is only available for ilford regular rc paper, I like it.

Satin is quite nice for quite a few different subjects - I've used it in the past for the postcard exchange.
One thing it is really good for is scanning - for some reason, satin surface prints scan better on a flatbed scanner than glossy, pearl or more textured surfaces.
And for those who aren't receiving enough acknowledgments, I'd recommend persevering. The last two years have been draining in many, many ways.
I'm trying to get to my comment backlog in at least Round 53, and so far I am up to date in Round 54.

I got @MattKing's "Canopy" today. It's a 5x7, nicely printed. The combination of selenium and cooltone makes an interesting tone - and I believe it adds depth. I can't count how many times I've tried to get a photo of a group of trees and never really manage to get it exactly how I want.

Thanks Don - glad you like it.
I can assure you that isn't the first time that I have tried to make a photograph that satisfies me from that particular group of trees!
