It's a new year and a new decade. I hope your resolution is the shoot more film and print more postcards. It's time to sign up for the next round of the postcard exchange. Sign up runs until the end of January.

OK, now the standard text, but please read on:

There are links to the FAQs and an Introduction in my signature at the bottom.

As in the previous rounds, please signup by starting a conversation with me (used to be called PM) containing your full name, address (including the country - this is an international exchange) and the number of cards you are able to send or say maximum for the maximum possible number of cards. You can also choose "ALL" you will still only receive the MAX number of cards but you will receive the complete list so you can share your work with everyone if you choose.

As in the previous rounds, if you have been in the exchange for the last couple rounds and if your address is the same, you can sign on just with giving the number of cards here in the thread. No PM needed in this case.

Important! As in the previous rounds I will post lists of participants in this thread every once in a while. If you signed in (or if you think so) please come back to this thread and check if your name is on the list. If the name should be on the list but is not, then let me know. Once the address lists are sent out early in February I can not do any changes. And also check for the number of cards behind your name.

There are a couple threads with an introduction and FAQs (check the links in my sig). Just send me a PM or ask here if you have any questions.

Please read on:

As in the previous rounds, not all participants have been able to send out the cards. For whatever reasons, if you have not fulfilled your last rounds commitment, send your cards before you sign in for this round. Just be fair. (and drop a note in the last round comments to let us know you are okay)

And as in the previous rounds, I am looking forward to this round.

Now for those new to the postcard exchange, here is how it all works out.

First: It is fun!

Second: When registration is over, I will prepare address lists which I will send to the participants. You will have to send a card to every address on that list and you should receive back a card from everyone on that list. So if you join in for e.g. 20 cards you will have to send 20 cards and you should receive 20 cards back.

Third: Did I mention that it is fun? Where else can you receive cards from all over the world, different styles, different methods, different papers, and more.

Hi George, I'm in again, this time for the MAX.

And thanks, this is a great activity.

Cheers,

Hello all, and a happy new year to all of you!

I'm in for ALL, same address as in previous rounds.

I plan to start printing this week, so that I'm as early as I've been late

In for another six, as usual, please George.

Thanks, as said previously, for keeping the exchange going.

And as a side note (that I've also just put on the end of another message as well), is there anywhere on this site, where people put their pictures from this and the other print exchange round? It would be great to see some of the work done by other people, that I don't receive from.

Many thanks one and all, and a Happy and Prosperous New Year to everyone.

Hello George and fellow Photrions. I’ve been out for a while but now can with confidence say I am back and wanting to join in again. I’m in for the max and my address details I’ll confirm via PM. Thanks every one and happy new year.

Hello everybody,
I haven't finished the previous round yet (still have to retouche a couple of cards, no spare time for that though), so I will sign up for a new round a little later. But I want to wish all the participants a New year full of happy printing (and other wholesome activities too).

Hi George, I'd like to join if I may. (PM message sent)

Wishing everyone a very exciting and Happy New Year!

Sign me ip for the max please and a very Happy New Year to you all!

Hi George, have great time in your new year and please sign me up again ,for the MAX this time.

This is so much fun

With regret, I'm going to have to miss this one.
I think that this will be the first one I've missed since Round 17.

I have participated in PCE 20, 21, 23 and 33.
Now I'm in again for PCE 49. MAX
Since I moved a lot, I don't know if you have my actual address, I'll send it to you via PM.

cheers

I’ve been in it as long as you have I think, but have missed a few rounds over the years, usually due to moves. It’s always tough looking at the comments for the rounds your not in! In the past, when I would have time (!) I would print some extra cards for an upcoming round, in case I couldn’t get into a darkroom.

in any event, I’m a bit late on the last round (work is killing me this year), but I hope to get in the darkroom once the semester finishes next week. Then maybe I can sign up for this one.

Good luck with all that!

Looks like we have 15 so far with about 10 days left to join in. If I've missed you or you want to change something let me know.

I'm going through all sorts of things in preparation for a move.
It seems that my memory is faulty - I think that my first exchange was #9, although my computer records for all the exchanges before #17 were on an older computer, and therefore gone.
As I go through the hundreds of cards I've received, I see so many names and so many great cards ....

IIRC my first one was 6 or 7, way back in 2007.

I'm thinking of participating this time. Do we send the same postcard to everyone, mix it up, or sender's choice?

Sender's choice.
I prefer to send the same one to everyone, because it simplifies things. I use pre-printed labels with a detailed description, addressed and personalized using a mail-merge tool in my word processor. I have, however sometimes printed some different cards for people in my Darkroom Group who are also participating, simply because they might have already seen the image I chose for the rest of the cards.
It is also an excellent printing exercise. The necessary attention to detail and process care involved in printing 25+ copies (in my case) of the same image helps keep my printing skills "current".
