I loved shooting with my rolleicord III, when it worked. When it will I decided to look at other tlr cameras. One of the reasons I went with the c330 was because of the bellows and short minimum focusing distance. I don't have the 55 or 65mm lenses, but the mfd for the 55mm is 9.5 inches per the instructions. The 80mm is between 13 and 14 inches. It really is ridiculous.

Three cards in the last three days, nine in total now. drpsilver - "Gooseberry Falls, MN". So peacefull. Lucid - "To Osa's Island". You mention the picture was taken during a short respite from the British weather, I see three pigeons wishing the weather was somewhat warmer. graciemansion - A square picture taken with a holga. The tones of this card have drawn the family back to it many times for another look at it.

It was the same for me! I was sitting on the ledge of the river for over 15 minutes! I did hope the pigeons would move closer, but it was not to be.

@drpsilver - A really lovely image. The slow exposure is just right. I'm surprised to see the image was taken on Plus-X. I'm also loving the stamps! I played it safe with Royal Mail for my card, but I may use some older stamps next time.

@hwv - I like the rhythm of this image. The level of contrast works well and the concrete blocks have a luminous glow about them. I thought I'd mention that the ink on the back has smudged quite a bit. No doubt the postman delivered the card in the rain!

At the end of a very long day it is great so see these post cards when I get home. Keep em' coming!

We are living in interesting times. Times that I have never experienced in my life. Most of the community events in Santa Clara County (California) have been cancelled or banned. This gives me more time to hike, photograph, read, and play in the darkroom. (Also to do stuff around the house that has be delayed because of "I do not have time to do this now.")

The past week brought two new postcards to my mailbox. The first from Lucid of a bridge to "Osa's Island". A nice composition of pigeons, water and stream. The dark tones make it a very "moody" image. The other card is from graciemansion. Taken with a Holga (with very sharp optics, lucky you) of a shop window that overlays reflection, mannequins, and lights.

Thank you for sharing your work. Hope all are well. Stay as healthy as possible.

I received three very nice postcards in the last few days. First with Darwin's Gooseberry Falls, MN. Very nice scene complete with the "running water". Then there is Max's (Lucid) To Osa's Island, a nice bridge scene. You have a couple of birdies on the side. And seeing a little of Osney Town, beyond the bridge, makes me want to see more. And finally there is 3 Cubes, 3 Lines, 1 Avenue. Very interesting structure. I want to know more about this, too. What part of Berlin is this in? Is this maybe part of a historical building or memorial?

Thanks guys. This is really an interesting activity.

Thanks to @drpsilver (Darwin) I can attest to the fact that the Dutch postal service is still operating as of today 3/17/2020.

A lovely picture of Gooseberry Falls recorded on his favourite film and my favourite focal length. Great stuff, thanks Darwin.

I took the photo at Cherusker Park in Schöneberg/Berlin. It's a (in my opinion) not so cosys recreation area. This had been a railroad area in former times. I was inspired by a workshop "the darkness in photography" I assesed in VHS Schöneberg. I liked the last rays and glipses of the setting sun on the concrete blocks in contrast to the dark ground. Fortunatelly I took my tripod to the workshop, otherwise I hadn't been able to take the photo. As far as I remember, i choosed f/16 to get the DoF I wanted and the shutter was opened for about 5 seconds.

You can search for
F9M5+JC Berlin
in Google Maps. By switching to satellite view and zooming in, you may recognize 5 cubes and 5 rows seen from birds view. For the photo, I decided, 3 of 5 are enough ;-)

Excellent collection of postcards recently. Steam engine from Mattis excellent tonality.
Lucid Osney Town. Rich tones, must look closely to discover all the elements in print. Great job.
Rob, window mannequins with reflections, love it.
Luis F. Sosa, finally received the white fence everyone has been talking about. Cool. Very nice execution.

@graciemansion / Rob Your Manhattan Holga-shot postcard was delivered today amongst a stack of bills. I almost missed it, but very glad I didn't. I really like a lot of contrast and you certainly managed to deliver on this one. The reflections add to the dark mood. Well done man and thanks!

I pulled up 5th Ave on Google Maps to see if I could find the reflected building and thus the shop window with the mannequins, but when I realized how large that area is, I gave up.

Thanks! I took a look on Google Maps myself I think it was this St. John's on 53rd street. I was in the area, I know the store was on the east side on the street, and you can see the St. Thomas church in the background.

And I have finally snuck out of the house and posted my 6 cards, as surprisingly, the Post Office was open today = Sunday 22/03/2020. As usual I had hoped to post them earlier than this, as they have been ready for at least a week, but better later than never.

I have also, for the first time, used A6 sticky labels to print out my usual writing bit, for the back of the cards. It was such a different and pleasurable experience, with no smudged ink from writing...

Waiting for the post office to open tomorrow to mail mine off. I hope there is no significant delay with the overseas ones, times being what they are. I think this time I will print some for my own enjoyment and use next time rather than stress over getting them out in time (I can only use the darkroom area at night and ideally after small children go to bed. I said it's time to brush your teeth and go to bed now. NO, you already ate three bananas. Quite stalling and get ready for bed...)

I have Howard Earl's card here which I like due to the subject matter. A Barber Shop with a really cool large open front window and also a proud smiling barber with his foot firmly planted on the seal of the open window, looking out. A very happy Barber shop it is.

I went to NY at end of february, (family situation that needed my help), just before our national government was beginning to act like "this virus is really a problem!" I extended my visit for as long as i could and flew back today! on saturday I bought an airline ticket from NY to Orlando, fl - $23. There were 6 of us, plus crew, on a plane for 250+ people. at the airports and on the plane i was the only one wearing a mask!
now i'm self-quarantine-ing myself and since schools are closed, homeschooling my grandkids.

all this by way of saying my cards will be delayed. please excuse me.

p.s. i have rec'd a bunch of cards which i've only briefly enjoyed, and will comment soon. thank you!

In the meantime I have received four more postcards.

graciemanson's wonderful square picture (I love squares) with many different layers inside and outside. You can look at it for long time and still find something new.

drpsilver's Gooseberry Falls - an impressive natural spectacle, impressively photographed.

Black Dog's St Bees - rocks and stones - formed by wind and water and a shadow - formed by the photographer. The first card in this round that is not black and white. I like it.

iandvaag's Phalaenopsis - very beautifully photographed. The edges glow wonderfully against the dark background.
