Welcome to 2019 and Round 46 of the Postcard Exchange. I'm a couple days late getting started but I needed some extra time to get up the stairs to the computer. Postal rates seem to be increasing ,at least here in Canada they are, but I hope everyone can still see it possible to mail a few cards and keep this exchange going.

OK, now the standard text, but please read on:

There are links to the FAQs and an Introduction in my signature at the bottom.

As in the previous rounds, please signup by starting a conversation with me (used to be called PM) containing your full name, address (including the country - this is an international exchange) and the number of cards you are able to send or say maximum for the maximum possible number of cards. You can also choose "ALL" you will still only receive the MAX number of cards but you will receive the complete list so you can share your work with everyone if you choose.

As in the previous rounds, if you have been in the exchange for the last couple rounds and if your address is the same, you can sign on just with giving the number of cards here in the thread. No PM needed in this case.

Important! As in the previous rounds I will post lists of participants in this thread every once in a while. If you signed in (or if you think so) please come back to this thread and check if your name is on the list. If the name should be on the list but is not, then let me know. Once the address lists are sent out early in October I can not do any changes. And also check for the number of cards behind your name.

There are a couple threads with an introduction and FAQs (check the links in my sig). Just send me a PM or ask here if you have any questions.

Please read on:

As in the previous rounds, not all participants have been able to send out the cards. For whatever reasons, if you have not fulfilled your last rounds commitment, send your cards before you sign in for this round. Just be fair. (and drop a note in the last round comments to let us know you are okay)

And as in the previous rounds, I am looking forward to this round.

Now for those new to the postcard exchange, here is how it all works out.

First: It is fun!

Second: When registration is over, I will prepare address lists which I will send to the participants. You will have to send a card to every address on that list and you should receive back a card from everyone on that list. So if you join in for e.g. 20 cards you will have to send 20 cards and you should receive 20 cards back.

Third: Did I mention that it is fun? Where else can you receive cards from all over the world, different styles, different methods, different papers, and more.

George:

Thank you for all the work you do to keep this exchange going. It is indeed fun, and is part of how I keep my "creative eye" active. I am in for the MAX. Same address as last round.

Regards,
Darwin

Six as usual for me please George - and Happy New Year to one and all.

A quick moan: Despite only receiving 2 to 3 cards in return for the 6 cards sent out, for the last couple of months, I'm still up for it = but come on people, if you sign up for this, PLEASE make the biggest effort to send your cards out.

I dont think you were on my last list, but I sent out about a dozen and not sure if any one received any. Post cards seem to get lost quite a bit. I received about 10 which is similar to last time. My daughter is living over seas and Ive been sending her some postcards, but only 1 in 3 seem to make it, frustrating as it takes a bit of time to make one, guess uncertainty is all part of the process.

Mine will probably be the last to arrive. But I did put great effort into printing them. With work and family and other things it's been the only time Ive managed to muster in the darkroom since signing up. Always things coming up. On the fence about signing up this round, maybe tentative as a giver only if time permits. I love sending them out

Thanks for the reply awty / Paul.

Yes, I suppose if we take in all the logistics, items must and do go missing, with international stuff having more chances to do so. Yet with all the little inexpensive items I buy from China etc. via ebay, rarely do I not get the item ordered.

Like the sock hole in washing machines, I also suppose there is also another special hole for lost post somewhere, hidden at the back of postal rooms all around the world.

All I know is that I don't get anywhere near as many postcards as I sign up for and send out and I do get a little sad for not receiving them. For like you say, it is '...frustrating as it takes a bit of time to make one.'

The trick is to print them earlier, and then to send them once you have the list.
Sometimes I am successful with the trick :whistling:.

Eleven so far, time for the last few to join in. I'll likely cut it off and sent out the list on Feb 2 Groundhog Day!
Please let me know if I've missed anyone or changes are needed.

I just finished my cards for 45 and they will go out in the mail tomorrow. If it's not too late I'd like to sign up for this round too - 20 or the max, whichever comes first.

Yes Mike you made it. Thanks for the others joining in as well. We are up to 16 so far and about 48 hours left to sign up. (that way I catch the last minute ones who see the calendar page change and wonder if is to late.)
