Thanks Lars, it was indeed a family rockpooling trip to the beach. The light was fading a bit, as it was late afternoon in December. However I'm quite pleased with the pictures I achieved! All,
finally a couple of comments from my side - past few weeks and months were quite busy.
aluk shows (in typical square format) two men discussing - maybe last night's soccer results ? Who knows - but they seem quite engaged in the discussion which makes me curious. Howard Earl shows a factory with letters larger than cars - the latter look really like toys compared to the building. tezzasmall has an interesting perspective which draws me into the darkness. But wait - maybe there is a stranger waiting behind one of the arches ? Thanks god its just a photo. iandvaag used a lot of contrast to create tension between nature and artifacts. MattKing shows a shoreline in winter time. The reflections on the water are great, my kids ask me which way is up. The nicely bent shoreline takes me into the photo and has a good contrast with the straight, simple tree trunks. Laurent shows typical mediterranean building style. An invitation to spend a few days of vacation in southern France, maybe. mike c has an interesting composition of horizontal and vertical lines. Himself appearing blurred in the photo makes it even more interesting. Oxleyroad's Waterfalls make me want to climb down and take a cool bath on a hot summer day. BlackDog shows what is maybe a family trip to the beach - maybe two sisters, grandpa and grandchild discussing what they found ? mooseontheloose has a great composition on her Selfie Check - a traditionally dressed woman framed by typical Japanese architecture. gijsbert's card looks like a typical autumn scene. Trees lost their foliage, birds are heading south, but blue skies with just a few clouds. Makes me want to take a long, relaxing walk along the stream. Finally, drpsilver spent some extra effort to print a fallen tree as a cyanotype. Remembering that wood is the base material of the print somehow reminds me of a circle of life.
I enjoyed this round of exchange again very much, thanks to everyone sending a card to me. I received a couple more cards, I think, but since they lack a reference to exchange #44 they got mixed up with other rounds in the chaos of my desk. Please remember to note the round # on the back
Also thanks a lot for the nice comments on the cards I sent - glad you like them !
Regards,
Lars
I just wanted to say that I have not forgotten this, but it has been busy at work for a while and no time for the darkroom. I'll come around though, over the christmas vacation if not earlier.
Thanks for all the loverly cards I have received.
/Erik
It's nice getting in the darkroom at Christmas for a bit of a break!+1 I thought I could get some work done in the darkroom before the holidays, but it’s not looking good. I’ll definitely be printing my cards during the break though!
I was happy to receive one of these, interesting scene with lots of movement rendered by the fuzziness of all the people. Thanks !Thank you everyone, for your tremendous patience! Finally, tomorrow I will post my cards for round 44. As I could not pick which one to send, I have printed three different takes on the same scene, a few of each, from a night in Kyiv four years ago.
best regards
/Erik
Also received the card from Erik. Nice and rather unusual capture, thank you!
At first glance I thought it was shot during a Maidan events of early 2014, but with a closer look the relaxed poses of people and atmosphere of the place make me think of a nightclub party.
Erik Petersson – Kyiv 2014 – It’s a treat to receive a special little print like this. I love the smaller size for the subject matter. The full frame borders and slight bottom weighting are great. I really enjoy this print, thanks!
