Postcard Exchange - Round 3

I have just returned from vacation to find a welcome selection of postcards waiting on the doormat as light relief from the bills.
A leaping frog from BWGirl – Flower Show from Randy Liersky – Keppel Falls from Nige – Canoes from Jim Shanesy – Botanical Gardens from Mikeg – Abandoned Yarn Mill from Tim Trapp.
Thank you all, they are works of art each and everyone that will be kept and treasured.
Tim you asked about my experience with Prescysol. So far I have only used it for one session where I mixed the Maco IR with Ilford Delta 100 films and was most impressed with the results from both films. I shall be using it again shortly to develop my holiday snaps.

Many, maaaaaany postcards are waiting for me at home - so I was told on the phone.

Due to an accidential mishap -pulled my ligaments- on the way to my darkroom, I wasn´t able to print last weekend and now I´m away for 2 weeks. I hope I´ll get it done next week... :-(

There was a water filled drainage channel between me and those beasts - you can't be too careful, I always say...

Apparently that field gets flooded on a regular basis in winter and only a grass causeway/embankment lets you reach the church which is on slightly higher ground. Romney Marsh is a very interesting area.

I liked it a lot. Did you give the image a quick sepia tone or something? I was wondering how you got the warmtone effect.

Yup, partial sepia - pulled before fully bleached. I find MGIV RC does not take selenium to any noticeable degree and I wanted to warm it up a bit.

I've got 12 so far. I'm really enjoying everyone's cards. Aggie's arrived on Saturday -- my wife loved it. It reminded her of her childhood and her grandfathers farm.

Printed mine 3 weeks ago - but forgot them at home when I left to my study town... #)

Sent them today...

So far approx 13 of this round have arrived over here - all in pretty decent state but one - Jason, your´s was broken and bent in half. :-( The paper base was too weak to withstand the combined attacks of at least two postal systems.

Well, I hope it was destoyed in a modern art kind of way.. Yeah, I feared that.

Those of you that did not use Ilfords Postcard 4x6's., what was used... Just something with a thicker base?

Dave, you seemed to have used a normal base 5x7 but yours was made more ridgid with your info card/sticker... What was it you used to mount this?? What are other methods??

I used a self-adhesive lable as near to the paper size as I could find. I got them through ebay.

Has anyone used a non-acid, archival glue to stick things on the backs?? I'm sure you would never prescribe mounting using this stuff but........

I used it with my labels. It was a little wet and I had to dry, pressed in a book to flatten...

Your card came through without any damage at all Dave, so your method seems to have outwitted the Royal Mail's elite crush, scrunch and rip squad at least...

Postcards are ephemera. They're going to get stamped, barcoded, and who knows what. I wouldn't worry about acid-free adhesive.
