As before a new thread for comments, updates and feedback. The PMs with the address lists have been sent. Please wait a few days for any corrections then let the mailings begin. There have been a few address changes so check carefully.(I've already received one change - I transposed the last two letters in Nicholai's name - please correct if on your list)
I'm doing this a bit backwards. The address labels are all typed out, and the stamps have all been purchased, and the envelopes are all assembled.
The (new to me) little dichroic enlarger is now set up and aligned. Now to calibrate the filter settings to align with expected contrast grade numbers.
Not quite sure of the neg to print, but I have a roll I shot at night in DC last summer that looks very promising as negatives, so printing will likely start from that roll.
My cards (except for Craig Cross, and Ruediger Stobbe, whose images from me are going in the same envelope for the small print exchange next week) are now in the mail.
Wow.. I received 3 cards today already. Mike Wilde x3, Uwe & anikin,, Thank you all for the great cards! anikin... I cant stop laughing at your card, its great! I have mine printed and just need to pick up some stamps, they will be mailed this week.
Been gone for a few days to the Nagasaki Lantern Festival -- maybe an image for a future exchange? -- and was glad to see two cards waiting for me upon my return home. Uwe's old Gasthof, whose roof looks like it's seen better days, and Mike Wilde's hat trick of cards. Image-wise I like the colour portrait best, but paper-wise I like the Capitol Building. It's always a pleasure to see these old papers in use!
I received Mike Wildes three pack together with the print for the small print exchange. Thanks Mike, as ever I nice bouquet of prints on paper no longer produced. And nice prints anyway. Thanks a lot Mike.
Couple more cards came my way. Mike Wilde's set of three. I agree with others, the portrait is just stunning. I had an old roll of Supra III paper which I was thinking of throwing out, but looking at this portrait, I'm starting to reconsider. The fogging on the edges does not take away from the image at all. Just lovely!
Couple of duckies from Jim17x. Very nice capture. I like the sparkles on the water!
Just a note to let the group know that my cards went out on Tuesday. They should be arriving soon, depending upon the postal service. I will comment on the cards I have received later (when I have more time).
Regards,
Darwin
