Well...thanks to some Black Friday sales, I just ordered an upgrade:

Intel i7-3770K
Asus P8Z77-V PRO
16 GB DDR3-1600 RAM

to go along with:

1x Vertex LE 100G SSD
5x 1TB Samsung Spinpoint F3R RAID 5 for storage
3x 64GB Samsung 470 SSD RAID 0 for temp,swap,scratch

The boot SSD is gonna get upgraded as soon as prices come down a bit on the new Samsung 840 PRO's.

Greg, I have the samsung 830 and it is great. I would expect the 840 to be even nicer.

Yeah...I missed the inventory blowout prices on the 830's a couple of months ago. Can't quite swallow the price on the 840 PRO's yet. Not really comfortable with the triple-level cell technology in the regular 840's.

Ashamed of my monitor, it's a Samsung that doesn't even adjust color or brightness for printing.
