Thank you. Around this time, I started focusing on waterfalls downstream which has morphed into an "over the edge" persona. I will post some more with that theme in mind.

Negative scan, because I'm out of print developer. This was a scene on Cape Mountain, in the Oregon Coast Range, where the morning light angling in through the forest really struck me, and I'm not sure how strongly it really comes off in the photo--I may be too close to the experience. Nettar 518/16, 75/4.5 Novar-Anastigmat, FP4+ in PC-TEA; f/5.6, 1/25 s, handheld.

Thank you! I love this thread; seeing people’s very different approaches to and interpretations of the broad “woodland” theme is a great ongoing education as I try to get the hang of shooting in forests.

Thanks. All of the trees in this area looked like they had experienced fire at some point.


Pentax LX + Sigma 20mm f1.8 lens
Some very expired HP5+, from when they where using canisters with green caps. I'm surprised it worked as well as it did. I shot it at 400 processed it in FA-1027 1:9 at 800. The negatives really want to curl like crazy.

I’ve been exploring the 180/2.8 Sonnar on a Mamiya 645, and yesterday I took the combination out for a walk in Viento State Park in the Columbia Gorge. My wife thinks this shot is the cream of the crop, with the shallow DOF making it look like a macro of a miniature forest. HP5+ in PC-TEA, handheld at probably f/2.8 and 1/125 and not dead-sharp as a result.
