Clyde Butcher is one photog I really appreciate. If you are ever near Miami, I strongly recommend to anyone to stop by his gallery in the Everglades.....about halfway between the gulf and the Atlantic on the old tiamiami hwy
Very nice capture you have there

That’s a spectacular composition, Gabe—love the whirl beginning with the yew(?) bole on the right continuing counterclockwise around the limbs top and left…some posh glass, as well.

Many thanks.

I confess I'm not too sure what the tree is, but pretty confident it's not yew. Possibly some species of lime?

The posh glass is a recent acquisition. One I waited a long time to find at a somewhat sane price

Apologies, phone snap of a work print.

I feel like I should work the tones on the hillside a bit more, and I always struggle with cloudless skies.
Of potential note.
There is no road or old road upslope from the car and no road traces leading to the car.

Grrr. Nevermind. Complete fail trying to upload phone image; not logged in ?
And unsupported file extension type.
I need to be logged in to add text. No idea on that error.

Old mill stones I wonder?

Yes. This area of Derbyshire was famous for producing them from the local gritstone, but the industry collapsed over a century ago. Abandoned stones litter many areas of the Peak District as a result.

@GLS I've become pretty fascinated by the old shale quarries you have over there too. Someday.
