I don't think I've seen a thread dedicated to classic car-themed photos so I figured I'd kick one off.

Here's a few of mine...

The latter is, of course, also a self portrait

I like cars, but i am definitely NOT any kind of expert.
Two questions about your self portrait......
1. Is that a Ford.?
2. Are you in that chrome bumper some place....in the Turn/Point i guess.?

I dig the colors. I am, sort of, addicted to Black and White, but with cars, it is VERY Easy to argue for color.

1. I can't remember.
2. Yep - plus a couple of other hints in other bits of chrome.

That came out quite nice actually.
You, yourself, are in a car as well.?

Yes. We were parked in a parking lot. My wife had gone inside to buy something.
I had the Pentax 6x7. Since I got the door frame in the picture, I must have used the 55mm f3.5.

GREAT Idea..!!!

That first frame..... my neighbor just sold his 1964 Mercedes. Not sure what it was exactly....a 2,8 4-Door perhaps.?
Not really sure, trying to remember the nomenclature on the rear of the car.
It was that Dark Red/Maroon color that Mercedes used back then.

I had two friends that were rather wealthy and into cars.
Veronica had some really nice Porsche iterations....including a 1973 2.7 RS (light)
She also had a 914-6
Not sure why those cars were not A LOT more popular. On paper, they were a "better" car than a 911.

Fabulous photos.
I have a few nice frames from a car show, i need to figure out how to use my Nikon-200.....D200.?
I suppose i could shoot the negatives and then post that.?
We just got done moving.
Not even sure where my photo stuff is, especially that Digital SLR.

Nicely done, indeed.!

I did not even realize that Australia had a Car Manufacture Industry.
Do they still build cars of their own.?
That is to say, not just an assembly of Ford, Toyota, Volkswagen, Etc etc.

Speaking of the FB Holden 2 posts up.

At one time we had a very big (for us) car industry including Chrysler, General motors Holden, Ford, Nissan, Toyota and more. All have now sadly ceased manufacturing, Holden closed down recently..
Ford, Holden and Chrysler made their own models and mostly their own components.
