This is an 8x10 pinhole photograph of a solar eclipse enlarged to 11x14. Of all the sheets of film I exposed, this one had this incredible transient circular opening in the clouds. If only it had been a 100% eclipse, but then it would have been somehow put off as fake.

Wow, impressive.
That would a great setup for comet's, too!?
What f stop do you prefer (f/11?)
Best

f/5.6. Too small an aperture like f/11 and the light level is so very low the film will get some stars, but won't record any nebulae at all no matter how long the exposure. Large format is tricky for finding lenses that work well wide open. I bought several lenses to find a few that did very well at 5.6. The photos are pinpoint sharp center to the very edges, no cropping, no distortion, no abberations.
