Here is a late-1800s or early 20th century cottage on Grand Isle, Louisiana, that survived Hurricane Katrina. Older houses like this (of which there may only be 5 or 10 left) were grandfathered and did not have to be elevated on piles, as did all newer structures. Grand Isle is the southernmost inhabited barrier island in Louisiana. This is Kodak BW400CN film, Leica IIIC, Canon 50mm f/1.4 ltm lens, hand-held. I scanned the negative with a Plustek 7600i film scanner.
