Hey Bill... also within a few hours drive of the bridge is the Kingston Plains area. It is between Grand Marais and Munising, north of the Seney NWR. For anyone interested in an overnight, there is an awesome campground at Kingston Lake.

Kingston would be a good overnight stop for a tour. Vast stumpage.

Also, If people are heading up Grand Marais or Munising way they can always set up camp at Hurricane or Twelve Mile Beach.

yes, I was mulling over an itinerary in the Pictured Rocks area, and Kingston Plains was high on my list. Also Sable Falls in Grand Marais, the breakwater at Grand Marais for very low light stuff, the shipwrecks and nice rocky shoreline west of Grand Marais, Miner's Falls, Munising Falls, Laughing Whitefish Falls, and Seney NWR. I was thinking that there are more than enough places for two long days of shooting just in that area.

Oh yeah, Bill mentioning Brevort River made me think of the Cut River Bridge. For anyone who appreciates bridges or architecture in general, it is a great structure. Good pasties at Cut River Inn, also. Every first time visitor to the UP should experience one.

As far as the Taq Falls area, I would include the Crisp Point lighthouse as well.
