I have this 4,5/135 Skopar that is free from scratches, but is cloudy between the first and second element. I hate when they are mounted in one piece like this, when I can't just unscrew them. Is there a way to get to the inner surfaces? Bending up the folded metal aorund the second element? Any experience?
Does the black ring on the front screw off? Is there a flat retaining ring in the front, which may be removable? Sometimes these have slots or holes for a lens spanner, but often the are just removed with friction.
It has threads so I thought about that, but there are no slots for a spanner wrench. Hm, I could make a friction tool. I have a sheet of 2mm rubber I could use. Thanks for the suggestion.
Yay! A piece of rubber and a candle holder did the trick. I thought that I had some difficult work to do, because of the protruding convex front element, but saw a candle holder and tried it. Fitted perfectly and gripped the ring. Problem solved, but I'm not going to light a candle. Lots of naptha and isopropanol vapors here right now.
I used a Piece of copper pipe that fit around that ring then it would not touch the glass at all and a couple of tube patch's since these have a adhesive side that will keep them in place while turning the lens ring :
