Understand that the first developer temperature is very critical to get good constant results, but would like to use my non bath rotary, rather than the inversion by hand process. The taking it in and out of a bath set at correct temp.
But does the temp have to be maintained at 104* for the full time? Or can it be at an average that equals 104* ?
Example: Temp raised to 112* at the start of the developing time, but of coarse it would be much cooler after 9.2 min without a placing it into a heated bath at correct temp.
Is a process that is used successfully by others?
Background:
Right now where using Cinestills Dynamic Chrome D9, which needs 104* for 9.25 min.
So we experimented, and preheated some water to 110* and did a presoak of filling the daylight tank full, .. than hand agitated for a minute and a half. Poured that out and filled with 20oz of water for the test. (Half of inversion process need)
After 9.25 min opened up the daylight tank and checked the temp with accurate digital thermometer, and it was 95*,
So the average temp for the developing time was about 102*, and needs to be increased if this is a process that is used.
