Now that I know you scan and do not optically enlarge my only remaining question is this:

What if anything has been done with limited post processing that would be impossible with optical enlarging which is all I have any experience of doing

Me neither. Just sharing what I've done myself from information I've gleaned from others.

I have not had the chance to make color optical prints just b&w. Early on I sent out for 20" X 30" optical enlargements a sample from each film type I was using that I would then compare to my scans of those frames to see how they match in detail, color and contrast. It's unfortunate that resource is not readily available now for a reasonable price.

I'm bummed I missed out on cibachrome!
