PolyWarmtone 17 alternative

Hi all

I'm down to my last box of PWT 17 and looking for an alternative (UK based supplier, if poss).

I have tried all manner of fiber papers in various devs, and PWT 17 in NeutolWA is the one that rocks my boat. Sadly, PWT is no more, so I'm looking for an alternative with that 'texture-free', almost matt surface, but with just enough sheen to raise it above matt and produce nice warm creamy tones and good blacks. I've come close with a few papers, but they all seem to have some undesirable texture (stipple, too rough, too gloss, etc.). VC preferable.

(Formatone Nature 532ii from Silverprint looks promising, but rather a*se-achingly expensive. Anyone tried it out and is able to compare against PWT.)

Anyone help me out?? - Would be forever indebted (no binding contract, BTW )

Personally I'm going to try the Ilford Multigrade Warm tone when Im next in the UK. I have a pack thanks to Ilford & the last APUG Ilford factory visit.

The base is now rported to be whiter,the only reason I didn't use Multigrade Warmtone previously was it's sickly yellow base colour. I'll also try the new Adox Warmtone paper also manufactured by Ilford, I'll probably give the Berrger Warm tone a miss, all three are quite similar in manty ways anyway.

Luckily I still have quite a large supply of Polywarmtone, but I need a new paper for my other prints (non exhibition) so I can conserve the Polywarmtone.
