Have just started to get interested in polymer photogravure and just wanted to see what methods other people are using to create their positives for this process. At the moment i am printing using a straight line curve at 80% (gamma 1.5), with nice results but not jaw dropping!
.
I recently purchased the PDN ebook and am just wondering how this would work in creating positives for polymer plates. Also how about RNP?If you guys have any tips it would be very much appreciated.
Many thanks
David
Hi David,
I've been very happy using Mark Nelson's PDN system, and it works great
for making digital positives for gravures. I knew nothing about digital
negatives or curves when I started out, so I had a lot to learn. I had tried
using this person's curve, and that person's curve, and found out the hard
way that I needed my own curve, based on my exact workflow, even down
to the brand and mix of ink I used to ink the intaglio plate. PDN works great
for that.
