Clay Harmon will be returning to Project Basho on October 30th & 31st, this time to teach an introductory workshop on Polymer Gravure. The modern polymer gravure process is a successor of the more difficult and chemically dangerous-Talbot Klic copperplate photogravure process. Students will begin by creating digital negatives from their scanned film negatives or digitally captured images and will use these to create an intaglio-etched plate. Harmon will then show participants how to ink, wipe, and print their plates through a traditional printing press, creating an ink-based image with an exceptional gradation of tones.
